Kalani Koa

Kalani Koa is a Hawaiian Contemporary band from Oahu that includes lead vocalist, Aukai Kekoa, 18, Kamehameha Schools; Gabriel Miller, 17, lead guitarist, Castle High School and three Mililani High School students, Kaohu Detwiler, 17, bassist and back up vocals; Kupono Detwiler 17, back-up guitarist; Kainoa Rallita, 18, drums and Hideki Aoki, 18, key boards and back up vocals.
The band gets their inspiration by the likes of well-known Hawaiian bands including Ekolu, Kalapana, Rebel Souljahz. They played together for two years and first began playing at graduation parties. Today, they are no strangers to playing in front of live audiences such as the Okinawa Cultural Center , Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park
Kalani Koa entered Band Champ as a way to remember their senior year of high school before each heads their separate ways; some to continue their passion for music, others to college as well as careers as firefighters and pilots.
